I need to know if my employer can view my text messages. Someone told me the IT director/communications director can view all the employees incoming and outgoing text messages through their data servers. Is this true? I sure hope not! Thanks

You didn't get a reply because this isn't really a mobile phone forum.

Anyway, the phone company you use, as well as the recipient's phone company would have access to the messages as they have to handle the info to transmit it.

Basically, whatever equipment handles the info, has records of it, and that also includes email etc.

They are generally required to keep records for at least 7 years for legal purposes. (At least here anyway)

If your employer is the cell phone account provider or administrator, then he/she in theory could obtain records for what was sent.

A simple check of your employers privacy policy or your employment terms and conditions should tell you.
