Hi I got a little probably with my dvd-rom. It's a DVD-/+RW 16 double layer multiformat drive. It lets me burn cds, but not dvds. it will recognize dvds movies and dvds with contents in it. However when i put an empter dvd-r or a dvd+r in there it just tells me D drive access is denied. I right click and property the drive, but there were no info. When i put the blank dvd-r in there the name of the drive change from dvd drive to cd drive. It's a emachine computer T6414. Any helps is appreciated.

I bought 100 blank dvd to use and threw away the receipt so i'm stuck.

The first thing to try is to delete the drive in Device Manager, then reboot, then check the drive.

You could also try running the troubleshoot in device manager. pahoo31.

You can't be serious.

The so-called troubleshooter is the waste of time.

Unless you like jumping through a dozen hoops, then to be told you've encountered a problem the troubleshooter can't solve.
