i'm trying to fix a laptop for a m8, it has no internal cd drive ,just a usb dvd burner. he installed a program, didn't like it so he uninstalled it. now windows won't recognise the dvd drive, or it finds it sometimes and then gets io device errors and then can't find it again. the laptop is a fujitsu siemens lifebook e series and the drive is a samsung writemaster. has any1 got any ideas please? would a registry cleaner help and if so what's the best 1 to use?

thanx for any help

What's the operating system?

Do you have System Restore available?

Is the drive detected and displayed correctly in the Bios and Device Manager?

And no, a Registry Cleaner probably won't help, and can do more harm than good.
