I recently purchased a hd960 upconverter to go with my samsung hl-s5087 and the picture quality isn't as good with back dvd's than with the original copy. I was wondering could it be my media (memorex) or the software dvd shrink.

The more the media is shrunk, the lower the quality.

It's probably the settings you're using in DVDShrink.

Anything under about 90%, the difference in qualtiy is noticeable.
