Hello,
I have a Toshiba M35 laptop and my CD-DVD drive suddenly stopped getting recognized in BIOS as well as by windows XP.
I have a Linux partition as well, but it doesn't recognize the drive as well.
It used to work till last week. Then i left a DVD in there and turned it off. Next morning i had a windows update installed. I am not sure if either of these are the reason for the failure.
The drive works though, as i can see it spinning when i put a cd/dvd as well as during POST.
Is there any way i can have to work again without physically removing and readding it?
- I tried clearing up LowLimitFilters and HighLimitFilters in the windows registry as suggested in some other forum, but it didn't help.
Thanks in advance.
