I`m using Nero Smart Start to burn my cds. Recently the burns fail saying invalid field in parameter cannot perform "start of disc at once". I tried changing the mode to "track at once" and it burns ok. I use Sony Sound Forge 8.0 to record my lps and then Nero to add files and burn the audio files to cd. My computer is Windows XP Home Edition 5.1 version service pack 2 .My burner is not very old. Any clues on why it will burn in "track at once" and not "disc at once"?http://www.cdrom-guide.com/forums/images/smilies/t_up.gif

:tup: Haven`t had any suggestions yet. Could it be the drivers. I`ve been searching for a long time. Hope someone can have an answer. Cheers:)

A lot of things can cause this error.

If it's drivers, then it's the motherboard controller drivers that need updating.

CD/DVD don't need drivers, Windows has all the necessary files.

It could also be the media itself, so try another brand, regardless of how reliable they were in the past.

If that fails, try removing Nero completely using the Nero Clean Tool on Ahead's website, then reinstall. (remove all other burning software in case of conflicts)

If that doesn't work, try uninstalling the drive in Device Manager, reboot, and let Windows reinstall it.

If the above doesn't help, then post a copy of the Nero log and I'll take a look at it for you.

Don't know when, but I'll try as soon as possible (bit busy at the moment).
