Please can anyone help me my cd rw keeps going onto two amber lights but if i flash the bios up it will work again but instead of being green it will be come on with one amber light.It is so doing my head in please help.:furious:

Why would you flash the Bios just for a drive?

Not only does it have nothing to do with the drive, but you are risking your motherboard. Not smart.

And if you mean flashing the drives firmware, that's not smart either.


What operating system are you using?

Check the drive in Device Manager and My Computer.

What burning programs do you have installed?

Do you have another PC or drive you can swap around?

im useing win xp pro and i have no other computer to swap the drive with.I saw one of the forums that if you flash the bios up it pics the drive up.i only know a bit about pcs so thats y i had a go.
i use deepburner pro to burn my discs.the actual drive is a scsi drive.
iv checked for conflicts and its come back ok, iv done disc check and still nothing.

I don't know much about scsi drives. Are you sure it's a scsi drive?

If it's not, tell me if the drive is displayed in My Computer and Device Manager?

its defo a scsi drive iv update the drivers for it and it worked fine for a while.
It will show up in my computer and device manager but when it has two amber lights on it it will not show up in either its like it shorts out.
any info would be great help lo however small.
