View Full Version : Can't Burn 650mb Discs

I have a Sony CD/RW CRX1611.
It stopped burning any discs several months ago. I tried to fix it (sort of) but no luck so I just did without. Now I need it and so I started investigating it in earnest. It wouldn't burn 700mb discs either until I started IMAPI service manually. Still no love on the 650's tho. It wouldn't be that big a deal, except I have a couple hundred 650mb discs. :bawling:

BTW, I have an error/exclamation mark in my device mgr. listed as "PCI Simple Communications Controller" could this possibly be part of the problem? If not, does anyone know what it might be?

My system is:
Athlon XP 2200+ 1.8ghz
512 mb Ram
WinXpPro
Sony CD/RW CRX1611
CDBurnerXPpro

Thanks,
+Nate

Try reinstalling the PCI drivers for your motherboard that should be on the boards utilties disc.

If this doesn't cure the fault try the CD/RW in another computer if you can ?, as it could be this that is at fault, and in need of replacement.
