Alrighty... So beyond the nerd bashing idiots that I've seen so far... Some of you have talent, and I've got to admit, Dealing with all these programs and file names is too much for me. Shit, i struggle trying to get plugins for my PS1 emulator to work >.>

Anywho, I'm pretty much ignorant to most of this... So bear with me here.

I have a fat PS2 with 8 screws in the bottom, From what i understand this is used to determine what model or make the PS2 is... But I'm comfortable taking it apart as I've done it 3 or 4 times because of disc read errors and just got curious. I've been doing a bit of reading and as i understand it, you need to either have a Boot disk (With memory card with something on it, or something), A chipmod, Or a hard drive in order to play "Backups" or "Copies" of games. And from what i understand a backup or a copy to be, That means an Iso of a game that was read by a computer and copied either back onto a disc or onto a hard drive in the hard drive version of the modding.

Okay... So basically, i want my PS2 to be able to play games without discs and i would also like to know how to take games off their discs and copy them onto a hard disk of my choice so that i can then put this hard drive into my PS2 and play them from that. And i also am not exactly sure what a Chip mod is, So anyone willing to help me out with that would be thanked in advance.

Right now, i need to know where (And what kind specifically) to purchase

1. The hard drive (External preferred, but I'm not sure if this is possible)
2. The chip mod (optional, because i fail utterly at soldering)
3. The network adapter card (Cheapest because I'm an upright pansy with a sore wallet)

Finally, If this post is repetitious i apologize, But i couldn't find any threads that weren't full of flamers and provided a clear explanations for all of my many inquiries..

And for my sake, don't **** me with my ignorance... :bouncing:Thanks in adcance.
