Help please, i have a 600MHz G3 iMac with 392M and running OS 9.2.2 and want to run an external firewire DVD-R drive to backup PS2 dvds.
I was going to buy the LaCie DVD-R/CD-RW drive but they recommend G4 based Macs.
Anyone have one running on a G3 or know of one that will run ok, as i said i only want to backup disks using toast ,not do and video encoding.

Hey Ps2 daddy, I have the exact same question as above and have been looking at all different kinds of firewire dvd burners to back up my ps2 games. I have looked at Revo, QPS, Pioneer, etc. I have not been searching long, but do you or anyone else know of the best valued dvd burner for an iMac? Do you know if it has worked? Any info would be great.
Thanks

The only 2 choices for dvd writers that work for Ps2 games right now are panasonic lfd-311 or the pioneer a03 which ever one is the cheapest probably will work the best for you the pioneer will make cd-r/rw or dvd-r/rw and the pansonic wont but they are slightly cheaper I own a pioneer
