What is MOD video format?
MOD is a video format used on many digital camcorders, such as JVC, Panasonic and Canon camcorders. In fact, MOD video file is MPEG-2 file with AC3 audio. It is used exclusively for standard definition video files, however, which was never given an official name.
MOD video can be enjoyed on a computer with a player that is capable of reproducing MPEG-2 video. This video can be easily authored for watching on a DVD player without recompression, as it is fully compliant with DVD-video standard.
