What are RCE & Macrovision? ----------& why should i disable it?

afaik macrovision is what stops you recording your dvd's to vhs. so if you got a macr free player it will record from dvd to chs

rce is another protection on your dvd's.the way i think it works is that when you have a multi-region player the region code is not set to any specific code it's just region free.

a rce film if it is region 1 film will only play on a dvd player that show's it is region 1. i know on my logix for any normal dvd films(any region as well) i just leave it set to region free but for an rce film i have to specifically set my player to the same region as the film or else it won't play
