I've come across alot of people who don't know how to make
a bootable disk image, and I thought I would post it here as well.
Here is an easy way. If you already have X installed. If you only have OS 9 go here and about halfway down the page read where it says CD/DVD master.
http://www.macfixit.com/osx/osxjournal.shtml#two
1.In the applications folder open up Utilities.
2.Open Disk Copy. (Make sure your version of X is (unstuffed so that it is a disk image) select it with one click, or your if you have the cd make sure that it is selected
3.Open the menu and click new image from device.
4.In the window that pops up find CD_ROM_Mode_1 click once on it and select install.
5.A window pops up and asks where you want it saved. Name it whatever you want. Also in that window where it says image format in the blue bar select DVD/CD master.
6.Click the image button. When it has made an image the name should be whatever you named it, and the ending of
cdr.dmg
7. Select burn image from the disk copy menu.
8.Insert CDR and burn it.
The CD is just like the originall OSX CD. It Worked perfectlly for me.
