Its not the Hard Drive which is the problem but the OS.
If you've replaced your hard drive you must re-install all the drivers for your periferal devices again (assuming you no longer boot from your old drive!)
Dig out the driver disk for your soundcard or download a new one.

What type of Soundcard is it?
Go to the manufacturers website and download some drivers.

It should tell you in Device manager.
If not, download Sisoft Sandra from here:
http://www.sisoftware.demon.co.uk/san_dem/html/dload.htm
Thias will tell you what type of soundcard you have.
Let us know and we'll help you find a driver.

Need more details. An exact error message would be helpful. When you say hard drive, do you mean cd-rom drive

not much then eh mate? why domnt you take the lid off the pc - look at the sound card (usually a good indicator). failing that, go to your device manager and see what is under audio devices.
once you have the name od the device manufacturer, go to the website and look for a 'support' or downloads secrtion. download the driver, run the setup (the usual form) and hopefully thats it.
try being a little more paitent mate - people are only trying to help!

What does it actually say on the Soundcard? You should see a manufacturers name, or a model name/number. The main chipset should have something stamped on it identifying it.
Did you download Sisoft Sandra and see what that said it was??
Have you tried Add New Hardware through Control Panel to see if windows detects its presence?
Go into Device Manager (in Control Panel=> System) and look in Sound Video and Game Controllers.
Is anything listed for Sound?? If so, delete it and reboot your PC.
