I was using my Liteon like normal and all of a sudden it won't accept any disk...

As soon as I put a disk inside, the green light keeps flashing like mad and after around 10 secs it will eject the disk. This happens with every disk.....

any ideas??

The flashing like mad is a blink code,(just count the number of blinks between each pause). Check your manual or contact lite-on to find out what the code means.

If it wasn't so common it would be funny - go to www.cdrinfo.com and check out the lite-on forum - look for the post by 'jook' -you'll see that there are hundreds of people with the exact same problem as you (and me - I swapped mine for a sony). It seems to happen after about 3 weeks. Believe it or not it has something to do with the power supply and an incompatibility with cetain mother boards.

Greets :) I seen there was a Bios flash released 1 day last week(I think it as last week) to fix the problem!! It happened to me 1 time I just unhooked the ide ribbon from the writer rebooted shut the computer down as normal reinstalled ribbon rebooted and everything has been fine after that! :DOnlymenotu:D

I read that post in the cdrinfo forum and it seems that there are various ways to sort it out but they are rather random...

I'll check Liteons website to see if they have that flash you mention!
I believe you're not talking about actual BIOS flash..?

I updated the drive..
Same thing keeps happening..

apart from that, the guys at Liteon just don't know anything about proper english.... here's an example......

Greets :) Did you try removing the ribbon as I suggested above! I worked 4 me it may work 4 u! :DOnlymenotu:D other than that and/or the firmware thing sorry out of ideas here :(
