Try the Windows 2000 drivers if you haven't already.

Primax is pulling out of the scanner business.

I tried for ages to get some XP drivers for my Primax USB19200 scanner (and also a SHARP Laser Printer).

I waded through ALL the included drivers with XP just in case one of them worked.

In the end I had to concede.

I set up a dual booting system initially and booted to either XP or ME, depending on whether I thought I'd be printing or scanning!!

I've now gone back to WinME completely.

XP can take a run and jump if you ask me

Chris, did you try the Windows 2000 drivers for the "Colorado USB 19200 scanner " listed at Primax's web site? http://www.primax.nl/

Most Windows 2000 drivers do work under Windows XP. You may get a compatability warning but if you ignore the warning and continue installation the driver *usually* works.

Yep! tried the Win2000 drivers.

Although the scanner seemed to initialize when I attempted to scan, the software just locked up.

After a time the (not responding) message was there.

The scanner was lower on my priority than my Laser Printer though and that was definately not supportable.

The SHARP Website was quite blunt about it as well.. This printer will not work under WindowsNT and there are no plans to make it work!!!

really quite ignorant of them if you ask me, I dont know why they bother having a Support link on their Website.
