Hi there,
i have a ricoh 32*8*8 cd burner and the software that i use for my cdrw's to make them operate like floppy's, taxes my computer way too much and freezes it on startup. At the moment i am using abCD to do this however i would prefer a program that does not use up so many resources and one that preferably does not start up when booting up the computer. i have a p3 550cpu 128mb of ram and i my o/s is win 98SE. can someone recommend a nice program for this kind of operation?

Packet Writing software is what you're talking about.

A packet writing software once installed will need to load & run when Windows starts. However, you can disable it by running msconfig and uncheck it in the Startup tab.

A nice packet writing software is InCD that you can download at www.nero.com . You'll need to have a registered version of Nero installed or it will ask you for S/N when you install it.

Another one is DirectCD that comes with EasyCD Creator or WinOnCD.

Does Nero and InCD get along well with Clone CD?, or with EZCD Creator?

Yes and no....older versions of DirectCD (pre v5.0) will conflict with Nero but it's easy to work around.
And you can't have two Packet Writing apps installed at the same time anyway. If you have DirectCD stick with it it's still the best IMO but my all means try Nero out. You can install it along side EZCD.
