:director: Hello! I have this problem guys that I cant fix!!! Okay I am using Nero 5.5.7.2??? I think that is the number. And The Other DAy I Could burn cd's but now, all I get is Buffer Underrun!!! I have done everything to my knowledge!!! It is a 12x8x32x cdrw, and I normally burn at 8x! I has worked fine for a long time *about 1 year*.Her is what it does, I will start recording a cd, and the top buffer bar in nero will got through 1% - 39% fine, and then it will just to 64% and the 100%. The it will start burning a little bit. And then the top bufer bar will jump between 98%, 99%, and 100%. After about 5 track (on average) the top buffer bar will instantly drop down to 59% and slowly decrese untill not more buffer is there. Here is what I have tried to do to fix it: I have deframented my drive ; I have uninstalled all burner software, and reinstalled it ; I have messed with the cache settings (made it 32mb) in nero ; I have mess with the buffer (made it 75mb) :furious: I am not sure what to do next guys! I have tried to do all the test burns in nero it says I could burn at 12x, but when I try at 8x it says buffer underrun.... Someone please help me out! Thanks guys!!!!!

Hi M8ty, I've had this a few times myself with nero, what I found was it only happened on poorly copied cds.

So if I had a cd full of MP3 I'd traded, i'd try to burn an album to Audio format at 8X and would get the same results your getting, drop the burn speed to 4X and all is okay, put a different disc in with MP3's on, and try to burn an an Audio at 8X no probs at all......

May be it was the quailty of the "original" or just a poor copy I dunno, but one coaster and I only burn that album at 4X next time, or reorder it, if its a good trader who didn't know about the fault

HTH
