Hi Guys, I know its been asked before, did a search and can't find it so here goes:

I have a mate who wants to put two books onto CDRom, no probs there.

Whats he wants to do is put some minimal protection onto the disc, so it cannot be easily copied. I know about read only on the files, but was thinking more like protecting the cd contents as a whole..

I've seen it asked B4 but cannot find it to access the links given on previous occasions, any help would be great..

Cheers

What you want to do is encrypt the text. Any way I am going to move this to Data Protection/Compression.

i'd put the files in a zip. with a long, alphanumeric password.

then i'd zip that zip up in a likewise fashion.

then...

you get the picture?

no cds are copy proof. zips aren't even nearly impossible to hack. it just takes time. the more levels of encryption there are, the more time it'll take.

Just an Idea, why not convert the text files into Adobe Acrobat format. This would prevent people from taking parts of the information out of the file.

still doesn't stop people copying the stuff.
