its finally time to buy a new disc burner and while checking clone cds hardware compatability list, i'm finding references to "correct EFM encoding of regular bit patterns" does anyone know what this is and how important it is ? thanx, b:)

"correct EFM encoding of regular bit patterns" is CloneCD's way of saying the burner can copy SafeDisc2 protected disks.

Just as a note, plextors are iffy on this. I know lite-ons will do it, as well as a select few others. Be sure before you buy.
