mattyp Feb 25, 2002, 01:20 PM Hi , I have just used Clonecd to copy some CD's but everytime I do so, it copies to about 98% the buffer stays at 82%, it stops for about a minute and then it comes up with the following error"Writing to cd failed, Unit attention, Power ON, Reset or Bus d".
Is this a faulty writer?
Also im wondering whether its to do with a recent firmware upgrade, is it possible to flash the drive with an older version, to check the drive?, because at the moment it says I already have the latest version, and it will not allow me to go any further.
Thanks
Matt
zack371 Feb 25, 2002, 02:08 PM Did the problem begin right after you upgraded the firmware?? If so, it is good bet that something went awry in the upgrade. I don't have a Liteon drive, so I have no experience with its firmware upgrade routine. Many manufacturers have a utility that will allow you to flash it with an older firmware. I have definitely done it with motherboards, videocards, etc. I think I also did it to and HP 9100i CDRW once. I would look around and see if you can go back to your old flash if possible. I'll also do some research and see if I can come up with anything on the Liteon and flashing it back. If anyone knows anything about flashing the Liteon this way, please post it in here. :)
Also, is CloneCD the only burning app you are having trouble with?? Or does it do it in other programs, Nero, EZCD, etc . . . What operating system are you using?? Are there any other apps running while you are burning that could be conflicting? Post some more details and I am sure someone will be able to help you out.
Best of luck,
Zack

Hi,
Thanks for your reply, as far as I can remember the problem only occured after I flashed the drive.
It works with all the other burners, but im wondering whether Clonecd can access parts of the drive that the others dont, also clonecd was working perfectly before I flashed.
Thanks
Matt
