Can anyone help me .. nero is eating up my rw's and making them a one time record. I can't erase them. The finalize cd option is not checked so I don't know what else to do.

I suspect that you've got some bad CD-RW discs. Unfortunately this is very common as there are actually few decent CD-RW discs available. (personally I only use Verbatims. Ricoh's are supposed to be good as well). PS. I assume you're not trying to erase a CD-R disc.
