Just bought myself a Lite-on 24/10/40.

In device manager it's identified as 24103S.

I can't find any mention of it on Lite-Ons site, no firmware, specs, nothing.

I assume and hoping its an updated 24102B, has anyone ever heard of this thing??

This is a very new model (Produced January 2002 and later), and my best guesses is that this drive is just a LTR-32123S(32/12/40X) with a modified firmware version that makes the drive operate at 24/10/40X.

There has been a lot of talking about this drive in the CD-Freaks forums and there seems to be no real problems with it at all, only the problem that it's so new that not all programs support it yet. It could backup all games including SD2 v2.51.021

I also have a 24103S and it works fine with the latest version of CloneCD (3.3.4.1).

This is a very new model (Produced January 2002 and later), and my best guesses is that this drive is just a LTR-32123S(32/12/40X) with a modified firmware version that makes the drive operate at 24/10/40X.

So maybe with the right firmware this drive could be used as 32/12/40X?

What do you think?
