I know, I've seen this posted a ton of times before, but I cannot find the link to that webpage made that compiled a database of the ones that worked.
Anyways I have one that is dated Dec 2000, and it doesn't play backups.
Is there anything you can do to make it play? IE MODchip or burn a special way?

from what i've heard...(don't know for sure, i have a dec 2000 dc and it's fine) but the new dc's that don't play backups will play the data/data selfboots i.e. the sports 2k series if any of those works then you just burn the audio.dat as data then burn the iso.
hope this helps.

Well, only ones made before sep. 2000 will play backups reliabily. Some people have had success with dc's made after that, but you can chip a dreamcast to make it play backups.
