I've created a backup copy of my game Megaman X 6 using Clone CD. The backup copy plays fine, except for the audio which stutters (i.e. it rapidly cuts in and out). This is most annoying! What could I be doing wrong with Clone CD that could create such an audio problem? Please note that i"ve used all of the read/write settings suggested by Cloney. Thanks for any and all help.

Is this a PSX game or PC. It might be because of bad media. Or your cdrom cant read audio good. When I copy audio cd I have to use my burner to read and write because if i use my cdrom it will skip about every 2-5 seconds. What kind of media are your using.

You could also try slowing down your burn speed, another thing that could help is to defrag your hard drive.

Thanks, Brandono and NateV, for your suggestions. I tried slowing down my burn speed to 2X, and this solved the problem. One question still for NateV: How does a fragmented hard drive potentially cause problems like the one I discussed? Thanks again, guys.

When burning from an image file, if the drive is fragmented and the image file is fairly scattered, then it can result in skipping audio/video problems, happens to alot of people. I'm not sure about PC, but I know it's a problem with psx, I just mentioned it in case that was what you were talking about. Many people defrag once a week to avoid the problem, but it pretty much depends on how often you burn, I usually try and do it once every two weeks.
