I am trying to author a dvd in dvdit but my ac3 file is 6 channels and the progam only accepts 2 channels, does anyone know of a way that I can convert the ac3 file to a 2 channel one?

Thanks

Didgi,

Try using the program Rempeg2.
This will convert your Ac3 file to a Mpa 2 channel file.

you can use TMPeg which will convert it from AC3 to Mpeg 2. This is the main reason I don't use DVDIT.

You can use softencode plus something to downmix to a surround/stereo wave file.. This will give you a 2ch AC3 file.. The problem is that while there are many freeware programs to do the downmix, softencode isn't free and there are no freeware AC3 encoders, due to the licensing.. Also if you have any DVD software installed then you can use their decoder filter with the aid of graphedit for the downmix.
