NaughtyLondonBoy Mar 02, 2002, 08:54 AM ok guys
i got the a03 too. all i need to burn is 2 mpeg2 videos as one stream on a dvcd disc. I tried prassi first of all, as soon as it started writing, it failed. just came up with error, nothing specific. u should see how much u could see burnt on the disc, it was like 1mm. very painful.
I then gave up prassi and then managed to download ulead dvd factory, it burnt about 3 minutes of the video. why does my burning stop so quickyl after start of burning??
is there something wrong with my drive or something silly like auto insert or something? i got windows xp with loads of ram and cpu etc etc
Would really appreciate any help. i have been looking for sonic dvdit, i had one but lost the CD, it was an original too!
Thanks Guys
LYNDSAY Mar 02, 2002, 09:00 AM For a start you should be using rewritables...then when the big mistake happens...you loose nothing........get one quickly....and work from there..
Is DMA on in your settings????????
Not much help but rewritables will save you a fortune ;)
NaughtyLondonBoy Mar 02, 2002, 09:02 AM yeah, i should really, im gonna stick in a big order from nokianeeds later, u reckon he has them?

NaughtyLondonBoy Mar 02, 2002, 09:25 AM Hi Mate, thanks for helping, here goes
P4 1.4ghz
256 RDRAM
20gb (main c)
80gb (2nd)
52x cdrom
pioneer a03
Got a dual boot set up on c. win98 and XP. not partitioned. the HD structure is FAT32
Thanks mate, appreciated
NaughtyLondonBoy Mar 03, 2002, 02:01 PM ok, i tried princo (the good one) and datasafe. they were the 2 original coasters.
i now tried a Pioneer one that came with the drive, even that stopped. it recorded 20 minutes of the video and then boomph. mind you, one thing i noticed with each of the discs, each disc was done with a different program and the WRITE LIGHT turned off but the progress bar kept going on and on and never stops, even when the bar fills up, it wont stop to report errors or anything. the program freezes basically....
this is turning to be expensive as it was when i got one of the first cdr burners when a cdr disc used to cost £10 each, anyone remember? the HP drive itself cost me bloody £800!!!
Please can someone help? im really desperate here friends....
rishardc Mar 03, 2002, 03:07 PM Maybe you have a defective drive? Maybe you should take it back and get a new one. I can't think of to many other possible causes to this right now.
NaughtyLondonBoy Mar 03, 2002, 03:46 PM thing is, i copied a PS2 game, straight in nero, and the thing went and did it all.... i will try and send it back, got it from svp
Cheers Richard
FatLadZ Mar 03, 2002, 04:11 PM try putting dvdrs in instead of cdrs you baffoon ;)
wilt Mar 03, 2002, 08:49 PM it might have something to do with you hard drive format.
NTFS i think it's called but i remember reading that if your using XP that it should be that file system not FAT32.
Then again the guy that wrote it could be wrong.
Just a thought.
oh yeah here it is..... http://www.dvd2dvdr.com/
Fistula Mar 03, 2002, 08:57 PM did you happen to flash the firmware on your drive?
rishardc Mar 03, 2002, 09:13 PM ummmm . . . wilt, thats my site :). I don't think this has anything to do with NTFS since he gets to teh burning stage. Hell the last resort that I woudl try is to format and start from scratch with everything brand new. Maybe the OS and the software are conflicting for some strange reason.
NaughtyLondonBoy Mar 04, 2002, 08:12 AM no i dont mess with firmware and stuff, not yet anyway ;)
i got a virginal XP system, (recently formatted) will try again tonight....bloody pain in the ***, i cant even find a shop that will sell me a dvdrw TODAY!!
