I backed up my Fear Effect and when it asked for the 2ND disk,

I put the one I burned in, I lifted the spring ( that holds the cover button down) it tries to read it but gives a --- read error-- message.

it seems to only want to read a black disk, like to re boot.

i can start it with the origanal disk -2- and it boots and plays ok,

I can take that one out, (origanal disk 2) after it boots and put the backup disk in I made and it works ok:

I'm using Game Hunter Pro---CD Version 2MG. /w the swap trick--PS1--CLONECD w/ the correct settings I burned all my backups.

I have played multi. disk on my sys. before: syphon filter and so forth.

I think the difference is on other games you just swap disk and hit X on the controler, where Fear Effect the reset is done by the opening and cloesing of the lid, in my case the use of the spring.

At the time when I finish Disk 1 and it askes for Disk 2, I've tried to use a different black boot disk and when I do I get a ---Error Message Saying ---Wrong Disk---It seems to be only looking for the Black Bootable Disk 2.

What do i need to do to play and swap my burned disk, what am i missing or not doing.

I've searched other forums for the answer to this problem and found one other person that had this problem no one could figure it out for him and he didnt ost his e-mail I'm stuck.

ANYONE LIKE A GOOD CHALLENGE HERE U GO!

Thanks

sorry eyes not working today lol
I think your problem is opening the lid it resets the psx
if your not holding the lid open button down the psx will auto look for boot up code again which burned disc dont have.

hope that helps

Wheelie is right, every time you open and close the PS lid, it'll check the cd to see what it is, like a PS2 does-you press eject, and it reads the disc you just put in, which is what makes the swap trick work--it still thinks the same disc is in (one with boot sectors). So, when you open the PSx and put your disc 2 copy in, it checks for boot sectors, can't find them, and so doesn't load.

Yeah, I had the same problem with Fear Effect 2, I've got a Game Hunter too. You don't necessarily have to use your original FE discs, any original psx game will work fine. You have to swap the original for the backup while it's spinning, potentially damaging.

What I finally figured out and worked was,

When it ask for the next Disk you give it a black bootable Disk, but u must boot with another multi-Disk game.
What I mean is when it asked for Disk 2 I put in Disk 2 of another Multi-Disk game, I used ---The Legend of Dragoon Disk 2, 3, ect.as it asked for them.

However it is a little timely and tricky,

Listen up. Your at the Change Disk Screen, put the swap disk in ( the bootable one- Yes, the Dragoon one) lift the spring quickly and let go,

You will hear 1 screaching like sound, you know the sound it makes when it first reads the disk (when it is first booting), right after it does that (boots) swap; put in the Backup Disk of your game, the timing has to be just right or it will not work it will give you a Error Mess.

So u may have to try a couple of time but it will work, if u have done everything else right.

Good Luck!
