:mad:
I just want to warn everyone that QPS is not paying out (some) rebates at the moment:
I don't know if they are in financial difficulty or what is going on, but I bought a burner on Sept 2nd and submitted the rebates on Sept 13th via Certified Mail. Now 4 months later, I haven't received anything.

Both the $50 manufacturer rebate and the $20 CompUSA rebate on my 24X CD-RW drive were APPROVED:

1) When I called on Dec 26th before going on vacation, I was told the US$ 50 check was due to be mailed out on Dec 31.
I called again today and was told that the US$50 manufacturer rebate can't be paid, because the "account is frozen" according to the rebate center (not affiliated with QPS) representative (very polite) that I spoke with.
He told me he had just gotten to work, and that I was about the 10th person calling about a QPS rebate today.
He suggested calling CompUSA to get a 1-800 number for QPS.
They don't have a toll-free phone number on their web site.

2) The US$ 20 CompUSA rebate (for same burner) has also been approved; this one was supposed to be paid out/sent Dec 24th according to wheresmyrebate.com

I called CompUSA's 1-800 number for all rebates and was
on hold for three times (the first time almost a full hour)
and never got through to anyone!!!

I also tried CompUSA's number that was specifically for the $20 rebate and kept getting a busy signal.

QPS is supposed to stand for (Q)uality, (P)?, (S)ervice
Here is a quote from their website:
===================
QPS Solution
Provides customers with the highest level of support
Offers vertical markets product solutions and services backed by quality, performance and service.
Continuous introduction of new products to meet the ever-changing marketplace.
Guarantees high-quality, award-winning products at competitive prices.
Maintains long-term relationships with customers and vendors.
Provides a vast array of enriched standalone storage solutions.
==================

If they don't pay up soon, they will not only have lost a customer, but I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau to pursue my options.
I am tired of companies taking advantage of customers like this.
I bought the drive over 4 months ago!
The only reason I bought it over other drives, is that it was a great deal due to the rebates; if I had known it was going to be so much trouble I would have waited.

It is more a matter of principle than the money:
I have had a bad time the last 7 months or so, with being taken/screwed three times by companies (A/C repairman trying to charge me for unnecessary repairs, luckily I got a 2nd opinion and the latter was honest; I also had a garage attendant damage my car in NYC and not tell me, so that when I saw it the next morning it was too late and I am out $430!).
Enough is enough.
QPS get ready for a fight!

I had the same problem with a TDK Rebate offered through CompUSA. Since the minimum 10-12 week deadline was passed 26 weeks ago, I had to file a complaint with the Rebate Division of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Apparently, the FTC will crack down on "deadbeat rebaters" if you let them know about it.

Thanks for the information.
I am going to try to get through to QPS
(found a number on their site); if all else fails,
I now know whom to contact (FTC's Rebate Division).
