Which is the best remote for the PS2 and where can I purchase it from?

Original PS2 remote from Sony.

Yep I agree with raibee. I had some 3rd party one which was pretty decent, I think it was the datel one but the official ones just looks so much better. Also you get the new dvd drivers with it too :)

The only problem with remote controls is they use too much space on your memory cards

if you have a new PS2 it comes with the new drivers installed.

I got the Sony job yesterday and I can't get the CD to boot. Without the drivers the extra features don't work.

I've got a NEO4 fitted. Anyone else had trouble with that combo?

if you have action replay try booting it with that

nothing beats the original dual shock 2 controllers....they're the best

Sony's remote is the best and you don't have to update the drivers, after all you won't be able to update the drivers if you buy another branded remote anywayz!!

Just checking that updating the drviers on the PS2 doesn't effect it's ability to boot backups?

I'd also heartily recommend the official remote from Sony. You can get them from Electronics boutique for about £20.

But ask yourself this: by the time you've bought the remote, a macro chip and made your console multi-region, you may as well have bought a standalone DVD player from Asda for £89, which can also play MP3's and VCD's.....

Hmm - got the install CD to boot from a copy (ironic)

Can't update the drivers on my NEO4 30003 PS2

Says " failed on copy" trying to copy them to my memory card

Any suggestions....

I'm pretty sure that's the case. My buddy got a PS2 shortly after they first came out...you know, one of the original ones. I got one of those too, then sold it. Then recently bought another one...a 30001 R. Go to the browser and check your options for system info. It'll show you what DVD driver version you have. Mine is newer than my friend's...has a higher version number.

I bought a combination Vertical Stand, DVD Remote and little plastics things that go into the optical and USB ports while not is use to keep out dust. The whole lost was $45 Aus. The remote is a cool blue looking thing and works a treat. The whole lot is more than half the price of the sony stuff and it allows me to operate everything I need for a DVD.

Go with the sony remote, it gives you alot more feature then other 3rd party remote controls.

yeah, i have the sony, and ive only watched like 2 movies with it. but it is the coolest looking, most features, and has sony written on it. it just looks superbadass thats why i bought it
