winXp comes with built in firewall. is this enough protection?

i have a cable modem (connected 24hrs/day).. so i need to make sure i am protected.

i went shields up (grc.com), and all my ports tested STEALTH (the best).

so i think im ok..

any suggestions?

if i was you i would feel safer downloading either zone alarm pro or sygate just to have another backup. www.sygate.com

Hi

The firewall in XP is a one way afair and will not stop malicious progs connecting to the net. Come on, you didn't really think MS would get security right did you :)

Get a decent firewall wall such as Zonealarm or better still get a hardware firewall or a linux box or a router or, if you are really paranoid, get all four :)

You can run a test on your security at...

I don't think that windows xp firewall is all that secure so I keep zone alarm pro installed. Better to be safe than sorry.
