First, I want to make sure that I understood it right. InCD doesn't work for CD-R, right? It only recoganize CD-RW, at least on my computer which runs Windows XP.
I feel it really painful to use InCD together with Windows XP. Maybe somebody can help me out.
My problem is I want to use both CD-R and CD-RW as floppy disks.
If I don't disable windows xp's built-in burning function, it always want to format the CD-RW that I have had data on using InCD.
If I disabel windows xp's built-in burning function, then I can not use CD-R as floppy disks.
It seems impossible to get all work well at the same time. What do you guys do?
Also, Nero is so complicated, though powerful, that I have wasted quite a few CD-R's on it. Is there a detailed document about how to use it online?

The WinXP built in routines appear to require differently formatted (or non-formatted) CDRW disks to function.

InCD formats disks to UDF 1.5 standard which WinXP cannot read and indicate that a disc is not present.

If you use InCD to format a disk to UDF then you would assume that you could bypass WinXP and use InCD to drag & drop - well, I can't get that to work !

Roxio appear to be issuing DirectCD 5.1 free of charge and if you perform a search on this forum you will find a link that Oz posted a few weeks ago.

Whether this works I don't know as I have installed it but haven't used it yet.

Nero 5.5.6.4 works fine.

Canoner, I don't think you can use CD-Rs as floppy disks, that is only possible with CD-RWs.. anyway.. trust me.. using a CD-RW as a floppy can be a pain.. I'd recommend you burning a CD-RW as a CD-r and then erase and reuse..

The advice from shahzadsk is obviously in error. CDR's can be used like a floppy disk when formatted for packet writing. InCD will not work with CDR's. DirectCD works with both CD-RW and CDR.

Packet writing is easy, and is widely used. This is a fact, and you don't have to "trust" anyone on this statement.;)

Most packet writing problems are caused by user error.
