Hello all.

i want to put a workshop manual onto a cdr, no problems there but what i want to do then is protect that manual from being copied, Shame on me!!

i thought about using clone to create the image file onto cdr, so that only clone can be used to copy it, but is there anything more secure about?

Cheers John

The only thing you can really do is encrypt it, so that while it can be copied, it can not be opened... If the manual can be read, then it can be copied.

Anyway I will move this to Data Protection/Compression.

The record/software companies have spent millions to try and do this do you really think anyone would or could post the answer on here?

I would zip the files. password the zip. with a big (>50 character) alphanumeric password.

then i'd zip the zip. with a big password as well.

then...

you get the idea?

THEN burn the zipped zipped zipped .... zipped zip to a cd.

no cd is copy-proof.

zip passwords take a relatively long time to crack. nested passworded zips take bloody ages.
