View Full Version : Atlantis DVD ac3 importing to SpruceUp

On trying to import the m2v and ac3 files into spruceup I've come across the problem (seen it mentioned on here before but not seen any solutions) of the ac3 file being variable bitrate, thus spruceup refuses to import the ac3 file. Does anyone out there know of a way I can import the audio without converting to mpa or wav, thus keeping the 5.1?

Many thanks in advance

P.S. This was the error reported by SpruceUp: Inconsistent bitrates were found among audio frames. Bitrate should be consistent throughout the stream.

Further to above,

I used ReMpeg2 to recode ac3 to mpa and that worked ok, but I would still like to retain the original 5.1 dolby,

Anybody have any suggestions........

This is the same problem I posted about a few days ago - It seems to affect all the newer Disney titles.

bobbo,

Did you find a way around it?

Not yet - still playing around with it - only found it on the newest Disney titles but assume it'll appear elsewhere. When you converted to MPA, other than the quality drop, was it problem free importing into Spruceup?

Yes m8,

No problems, and well within the 4.3Gig dvd limit!

Just wish I had 5.1 though! lol..

Hmmm, I don't have anything with VBR AC3 to play around with... But you could try DVD quick builder (I uploaded the demo to the mirror in the newbie guide post) it may not be so picky with AC3's...

Also you could rencode the AC3 to CBR.

Yes I had no problem with smartripper it was just importing it into SpruceUp, have you managed to do this?

Celtic, thank's I will give that a try with DVD quick Builder.

As I'm still new to this, what program do you use to convert VBR To Constant Bit Rate?

Thanks

Celtic,

Tried with quickbuilder, imported ok, but picture and sound out of sync when done final dvd!

Any idea what program to use on the VBR to CBR, would be my next try....

Softencode, but you will have to decode the VBR AC3 to wave first.

Is the VOB file generated by quickbuilder out of sync when you play it on your PC??

celtic,

Yes m8 same results on both pc and standalone! Note familiar with quickbuilder yet so may be doing something fundimentally wrong but I don't think so as Primo burns the VIDEO_TS file no problem. Btw, if I use Softencode buy converting to wav, wont I lose the 5.1 or will that still be there when I convert back to ac3?

Thanks

Convert all of the channels to wave and then use softencode to re-encode to AC3 and you will still have 5.1 sound, however when converting something, you always tend to lose some quality.

Thanks celtic

I will give it ago once I can find softencode, I think it's been discontinued now though hasn't it?

Although I did see the demo around somewhere will that do the job?
