Hi,i've just bought a pioneer a03 but i'm having a few problems with it.The first problem is it won't play dvd's it just says no decoder installed, can i get one on line?.
It is also set in region 1 is it best to leave it in region 1 or change it,because i doubt i'll be watching dvd's on my pc just hoping to copy them?
My final question is i can copy dvd sivers ok but when i try an original it seems to require more memory than my pc has,do i have to compress the file somehow or do i need more hard drive space?.
thanks in advance pete

1) you need dvd player software that should have came with your A03 like Power DVD. Did you install that?
2)You can change it if you need to, but there shouldn't be a need unless u live in a different region coutnry.
3) check the newbie guide. If you mean you need more HD space then you should get a new hd. I think its best to have at least 10+ gigs free when ripping DVD's because the initial movie can be up to 6 or more gigs and then you have to create more vob's later pending on the method you use.

Pete,
The Planet of the Apes movie listed there is R2. Do you have that movie? Also it is listed in the movie only section which means that when you rip the movie you and the audio it will be under 4.3 gigs.

You can find smart ripper, etc. for download in the DVDR newbie guide post.
Also about Planet of the Apes, they didn't mention if it was the original or the new one, so I just assumed it was the new one.. It is quite possible that I was wrong, but I doubt it...

Yes i have got planet of the apes on original dvd ,and it is the new version, but i don't know why it is registering 6.9gb,it's a stab in the dark but is it because it is 2 discs,1 for the film and 1 for the extras because they both register the same gb.
thanks pete
