I scanned a disc I'd like to make a backup of with clonyxl, and it told me that the disc had safedisc version 2 copy protection on it. It told me to enable fast error skip, with 3 read retries and no error correction. I did this, and when trying to run the program, it tells me to eject the disc, reinsert and try again, cause it can't find it. The program is Civilization 3, and I use a yamaha 2100ez with Win2k and clonecd. Please advise.

Your drive isn't capable of producing straight 1:1 SD2 copies.. Did you enable AWS when writting???

Your burner is not able to copy safedisc 2 protected discs.
The cloneCD site www.elaborate-bytes.com lists your burner as not being able to perform "Correct EFM encoding of regular bit patterns", the method SD2 uses to protect against copying.

Thanks so much for replying. I check the link you posted Celtic, and it had some interesting information. Unfortunately i don't have the new version that has the AWS feature. I'm trying one of the altered executable files. Do you know a reliable program that enables you to make these? Thanks again!
