Is it true that there is a backdoor in blackice and if its true what firewall would you recomend!

i tried zone alarm about a year ago! it drove me crazy with all of the block warnings! can it be comfigered to auto block like blackice!

The configuration of Zonealarm is easy. Personally I wouldn't trust BlackIce, it is no better than the one way efforts of MS in XP.

I am not aware of a backdoor to BlackIce but then again who the hell needs a backdoor when the front door is wide open :)

Yes, it can be configured to auto-disallow and auto-allow.

You can turn the warnings off but you still have to say Yes or No to all programs when you first install it.

Use something like NeoWatch http://www.neoworx.com/products/neowatch/default.asp alongside Zonealarm for better protection. Zonealarm is one of the best available, but not perfect. Neowatch should pick up anything that Zonealarm misses.

Yeah black ice has been criticised by many experts, and yes it has been known to have many security flaws.....
