how many formay of dvd is there? i know there is a 4.7gb. what else is there and will it work on dvd player? thanks.

Any DVD will work on any dvd player as long as you can play it's region.
DVD capacities range from 4.7gb to 17gb. There are dual-layered and double-sides discs. Each single-layer, single-side of a dvd can hold 4.7gb. To calculate the total capacity, simply multiply that with how many layers each side has and whether or not it's double-sided.
