Hello all.

if i was to use freelock or similiar to protect a pdf file on a cdr, then people would have some trouble doing a cdr to cdr copy right? but would they be able to drag the pdf file from the cd to their h/disk and then burn it?

please help, because if this is the case then why bother with freelock?

cheers john:confused:

Yes, they could just drag the pdf file off of the disc.. Just encrypt the pdf file, then they have to waste hours recovering the pdf file password to open it.

An encrypted PDF file can still be copied easily, you just can't open it up without a password... Well you can but it could take days to crack it..

The only problem is, that the person with the disc could easily copy the disc and give away the password.

freelock only protects data discs which must be copied entirely (psx games, or about any console game) - so not audio cd's or CD's with regular data and files, which can be copied using drag 'n' drop.
