I got thinking recently about all the old computer stuff we dont hear of anymore.

Like do you remember hearing about in the 1990's of IBMs answer to Ms Windows o/s called 'WARP'?

I never got to hear anymore about it, or see it, in fact, what happened to it?:(

don't really know what happened to it. About the time after OS/2 Warp was released, Microsoft camee up with Windows 95 and OS/2 slowly drowned in the deep.

It still is sold however. Just a few weeks ago i saw a full version of OS/2 in the shop, it sold at €10, including all documentation. Bargain, isn't it?

fine, but searching there for what i mentioned proved a waste of time, as the results covered everything but what i asked for.:(

Then again, Whatever happened to those 'lazer disks', - are there still a few places that sell the LD players???

A lit bit off topic I supose, we have someone in our office who doesn't know what windows 3.11 is. And on the subject of win 3.11 isn't hard to remeber how to configure all the hardware in it. We have a few machines we use with win 3.11 and setting a modem up is a nightmare!!!

I started on Windows v 2 ! 3.1 was a godsend.

Although I still remember running MS Dos v2.1 - a real step up from the Commodore Pet !

If anyone is interested, there is an excellent book called 'Extra Life: comming of age in cyberspace' by David S. Bennahum

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0465012361/qid=1020448703/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_2_2/026-3380660-5801259

Well worth reading - brought back a few memories I can tell you !

Some people "searched" DOS for undocumented commands. Mostly informational. Does anyone know any of these undocumented commands??
