VLC Mar 17, 2002, 09:11 PM I got thinking recently about all the old computer stuff we dont hear of anymore. Like do you remember hearing about in the 1990's of IBMs answer to Ms Windows o/s called 'WARP'? About the time after OS/2 Warp was released, Microsoft camee up with Windows 95 and OS/2 slowly drowned in the deep. It still is sold however. Just a few weeks ago i saw a full version of OS/2 in the shop, it sold at €10, including all documentation. Bargain, isn't it? And on the subject of win 3.11 isn't hard to remeber how to configure all the hardware in it. We have a few machines we use with win 3.11 and setting a modem up is a nightmare!!! simon1968 May 03, 2002, 01:59 PM I started on Windows v 2 ! 3.1 was a godsend. Although I still remember running MS Dos v2.1 - a real step up from the Commodore Pet ! It was so bad that you couldnt even intsall ms-windows while it was on the 'c' drive.! i'm glad thats gone away, along with cp/l an os2.:) |
