I've got a buddy who got his brother-in-law a PS Bootdisc, I think that's the name of it, but I know it's not the ps-x-change. I've heard that Harry Potter doesn't work with the ps-x-change, and it didn't work for my friend's bro-in-law's ps1 with the boot disc. The thing is, it works on my friend's psx, and he's using a GameHunter plugmod, so he uses a demo disc to boot. My question is this, what's so different about the ps-x-change/PS Bootdisc and plugmod that causes one game to not work with one when it'll work with the other?

It is somthing to do with the copy protection on the game. If you get a pal boot disk from megagames it will work. Put in your ps x change disk, when it prompts you for you backup game put in the pal/ntsc selector disc. Turn on the anti mod functions and insert harry when prompted and it should work. I use the importplayer v2 alpha.

Thanks for the reply knarf, but I don't think it helps much. Let me be a little more specific, it's the US NTSC version of Harry Potter, if it had been protected, then it wouldn't have worked in my friend's psx at all, but it does. It's when his brother-in-law tries to play it with his PS Bootdisc (not ps-x-change), that it doesn't work. Anyhow, I was just curious about the difference between a plugmod and a ps-x-change or any other psx boot disc.

i think that the ps bootdisc is not real its fake does it have the black bottom if it does then its real and if it doesn't its fake and u said that it worked on your friends psx plug mod then the bootdisc is copied so don't fall for the people that say that a ps bootdisc for sale sometimes u can get ripped off so order them from websites like www.liksang.comor www.modchip.net u can buy a psx change from there

My ps-x change is silver and works fine. I think that the main difference is that it is a pressed disc and not a burnt one. Your are right, His boot disc might be bad, I have seen the boot disk that he is talking about on the internet for sale though. I think that they are good sites. The copy of harry that I have works with the modded psone but I have to use the importplayer to get it to work with my psxchange. Who knows, I am just happy that it works.

Hi is the PS1 (new slimline white one) been chipped...cos if not then obviously the game wont work nor will a "silver" boot disk...I have a bootdisk on file that I can email you to burn to disk that helps play imports on PS1's so long as they are chipped first....if you need it email me at phaseiincs@hotmail.com and I'll email it to you....
