If your burner can handle safedisc v.2, will it be able to backup safedisc v.2.51 games?

My burner can do working copies of safedisc v.2 but with the Amplify Weak Sector option checked. So what are my chances of suceeding on games protected with 2.51?

Depends on your burner. Goto http://www.elby.org/CloneCD/english/ and goto supported writers and if your burner has 1 dot under Correct EFM reading of something like that then you will need the hacked/modified version of Betablocker http://www.geocities.com/pcp-freak/4cdfreaks/bblocker.html If it has 2 dots then you shouldn't have any problems just using CloneCD. If it has no dots then you will still need the Betablocker because AWS doesn't work with the newer verion of SD2. Some games have ATIP check so you going to need to play it in a CDrom/DVDrom or use CloneCD Trays Hide CDR Media.
