I have recently tried to back-up Pink Floyd - Echoes. As I have found out the cd has protected.
What is the best Program to by-pass this protection so that I can make a back-up.

Thanks.

The best method is to get Clony. This program detects the protection of the cd and then figures a setting that would make a perfect copy with a program called CloneCd.

Clony - http://www.cdmediaworld.com/hardware/cdrom/cd_utils_2.shtml

CloneCd - http://www.cdmediaworld.com/hardware/cdrom/cd_cd-writer_software_updates.shtml

Thanks for the info.
I have heard myself that Blind read/write will make a copy without the protection. Is this true?? and which program would be more reliable.

Thanks

They are not really copy protected, if you can play them you can record them.
If you can't copy disk to disk, record them through the Line out of a CD Player, or headphone socket of an Amplifier to the Line in on your sound card, straight to your Hard Drive, then burn them. It's not rocket science but does take a bit longer.

For starters get a good version of cdex ( free ripping tool available on the web) second get a free version of clony xxl , third have a raw data cd burner like a good old liteonit , fourth and most important when you place the cd in the tray and the little box on the screen pops up and asks you to update some of your files ...dont whatever you don t say yes just press cancel and piss this box off or it will load unwanted software onto your computer. Rip it as a mp3 into a folder on your hardrive and bobs your uncle, check your folders with clony, burn a copy check that to and I bet it is clean, this works with cactus copy write protection, there is no need to by expensive software such as clone cd or alchahol 120 im not saying it works all the time but it works for me, and if you have accidently got a nasty extra peice of security software from one of these copywrited cds on your hardrive well if you got xp thats no problem just restore your settings to a time before you inserted the cd in question....over and out...clowntown
