Why does everyone buy modchips when im told that the knife trick works for most PS 2 games...?

But would you rather do Knife Trick everytime u want to play some game or would you rather simply press EJECT place in a backup and press EJECT and play?

Personally, I would much rather pay for a modchip than use the knife swap method.

that does sound easier, but with the knife method you DONT HAVE TO OPEN YOUR PS2, and mess around with hardware or worry about your system dying early

At the end of the day Devilfire the ps2 is only £200 it wouldn't be the end of the world, but if your worried about chipping get a pro do it like Stussy

i have yet to play a game that doesnt boot up on my neo2.2 and i would think that jamming something in your ps2 would decrease its life rather than just ejecting a tray. oh and dvdr.

i think i understand now, but is it true no matter WHAT METHDO you use you have to use Gameshark to boot the system, and whats the difference between all these different Chip (internal-external)

no, Neo4 and Messiah dont need Gameshark, because Neo4 boot all fine except dvdr which u need bigger TOC size than the one you are booting. And Messiah, a.k.a. Phoenix boots everything no swap.

hahaha. this guy doesn't know what hes talking about, and he flaming us. 1-the knife trick is a waste of time 2- its doesn't boot games over 640mbs.

buy modchips at: www.lik-sang.com (if they still ship) or www.mod-chips.net, those are the 2 cheapest places

I suggest you buy a Messiah or the sort, forget this swapping thing, there is just no hassles with this chip. Yep as said above get it done by a pro.

I've been using the knife trick for a while, but I seriously thinking of getting a Chip. When that happens, I' go for Messiah or a clone, no doubt it!!

I got my Neo 4 from http://www.eccsmods.com and I have no problems with it. I'd much rather have a mod chip than use a knife on my PS2.
