I'm trying to patch the mentioned game with an anti-mod chip detection patch. I've got the .bin file, and I've got a patch, but the patch is in the .xps format. Does anyone know how to apply this patch - i tried to follow the instructions at megagames, but when I type what I think I'm supposed to type in dos I get the error "opening XPS file ... failed" - does that mean theres a problem in the .bin file, or with the .xps patch?

Move the XPS program , ISO , Xps patch in the same folder. Then go to START, RUN, type DOSPRMPT and it should open an MS-DOS window. Now you have to go to the directory that the files are in so IF their in c:\XPS\PATCH then you have to type cd\xps\patch and hit enter. Then type
XPS G-FREAKS.xps *.ISO
*=name or ISO
and it should work. Didn't know if you knew how to use DOS so I explained it.

thanks brandono - your info helped! I had been putting brackets around my xps and file because thats the way it was in the example I had been following - duh!

Hi,
I also have Guitar Freaks, but I can't play it, so I want to patch it.
I have two .xps Files but with every file, I get the answer "opening XPS file ... failed", like you got.
I got a ISO file I made with WinISO (guitarfreaks.iso), I have the XPS-program and two .xps-files (g_freaks.xps and guitar_freaks.xps).
I have WinXP and that's what I do:
I go to the cmd-window (that's like DOS, but in WinXP). I type
"f:\myfiles\modchip\xps0505\xps g_freaks.xps guitarfreaks.iso"
The files are all in the "xps0505"-folder.
I always get this answer "opening XPS file ... failed"
What should I do?
Thanks!
