I have a Memorex TwentyFourMaxx Internal CD recorder installed as a second drive

I converted MP3 to WAV and then used East CD Creator (v5) to burn to a blank Memorex CD-R. It took an hour to burn 16 tracks.

I have Windows 98, 450 Mhz Processor, and 128 mb RAM.

I added the drive as a secondary drive (slave to original CD-ROM on secondary IED drive).

Turned off everything running in the background.

Do I need specific drivers or could it be related to the set up as slave.

In device manager it shows 'Intel 82371AB/EB PCI Bus Master IDe COntroller'

Both primary and secondary shows as dual fifo

Thanks

Andy

Is this your first time burning?? In EZCD, did you double-check your burn speed?? (2x, 8x, etc) Is DMA enabled? Is your hard drive defragmented? Could literally be a multitude of diffferent things. Peruse through the info here -

Standard CDRW Trouble Shooting Checkup List (http://www.cdrom-guide.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6832)

After going through that, if nothing helps, just let us know.

Oh, and post your results if you get it working. Always like to know when someone gets their problem fixed.

BTW, Welcome to the board! :D

Yes...first time burning....speed is set at 24X...DMA is enabled

Just had my hard drive wiped & everything reloaded ( 2 weeks ago before I installed CDRW)...never thought I'd have to defrag just yet

Checked the trouble shooting & nothing seems obviously amiss

Thanks for any help...bye the way the CD I did burn was fine...just slow

I have recently bought a Liteon 24x writer & it was taking 20 mins to burn disk to disk until I changed my TEAC 40X for a liteon LTD163 DVD rom, now burns disks in just over 3 mins
