I can't get it to even boot up a dvd movie.

This is what I am doing.

1. Turn off the PS2 by way of the switch at the back.
2. Turn on, obviously:hdspin:
3. Insert CT disc
4. Close tray

it then take me to the browser and tells me that a ps2 disc is in, what next?

If I eject the CT disc and replacing it with a DVD, then the PS2 icon changes from blue to gold but it still says that it is a PS2 disc. If I select it the screen changes to black then I am returned to the browser showing the gold disc.

HAS ANYBODY TRIED THIS?????

Check your mail for the booting sequence I use.

If that doesn't work, then there _could_ be a problem with your Messiah install. Have you tried booting a normal Region 2 DVD? A mate of mine has a messiah installed and he can't watch DVD movies at all any more, but all kinds of games will boot up, PS1, PS2, backups & originals, DVD & CD. Just won't play movies!

If you can watch a normal R2 movie then I'd guess that it will be a case of trial and error before you get the boot disk to work, otherwise you could have problems.

I can get DVD movies to play, alway have.

To play a DVD movie, I just put the DVD in and it plays like normal. But if I put the CT disc in, it boots up the white "playstation2" logo then returns to the browser showing a blue disc icon and indicating that a PS2 disc is in. Is this correct?

Do I have to resign myself to the fact that it doesn't work?

I'm not sure if the double reset thing is necessary to play DVD movies or not.. I had instructions with my messiah chip to do it, and I can only get movies to work by double-resetting, but other people with messiahs have different results - some can just play them straight off, others can't play movies at all.

I don't think the actual installation does anything to DVD playback so to be honest I am at a loss as to why you can't get it to work.

Are there any other boot CDs available?
