I did extensive comparison shopping on hmds, shutter glasses, and "goggles" as you call them last summer.
Almost all of the glasses on the market are universal (usually svideo, and av inputs), so you they will all work with ps2.
Most hmds, and steroscopic glasses are only for pc, so your not going to get 3d effects, head tracking, etc from ps2 regardless of what you buy.
Your not going to fine anything worth buying for less then $300.
Thge main issue is resolution of the screen, and most on the market for that price range are not usefull for playing games.
They are simply too pixelated to see whats going on clearly, and forget
about trying to read text.
You need to pay very close attention to the display of each eye,and how high it goes.
From what Ive read the best ones right now within a price range that feasible are the Olympus Eye-Trek FMD-150W, and the Canon Gt270.
The 150w will do wide screen ratios, and the display is fantastic( text is actually readible on those), but they well set you back about $899.00
I went with the Canon, got it on ebay from a korean mail order company for $350.
(its actual retail is somewhere around the Olympus, might even be higher.)
Im very satisfied with mine, dvds look great in it.
But long story short, dont buy them if you cant get one of the higer end ones, the cheap ones just cant be used for gaming.

Unless you are CERTAIN that you wanna splash out so much cash on a pair of goggles, then just get a new TV, will do you much better :) :)
