just got a second hand freecom traveller cd writer but it does not read any disc's:mad:

also got the pcmcia lead and the ilink(firewire) with it

the light is on,and i can see it on the pc but when i insert a disc spins for 1-2 seconds then stops?? i have tried audio and data.

Could be a dirty lens - open the cd tray and blow gently inside the case - try inserting a disc. If this fails you may need to get a proper lens cleaning CD.

Not promising anything but it's worth a try.

Did you get a driver disk supplied with it, or did you download it from the web?
