As the topic says i'm really upset on trying to get my pc to burn 2 disc at a time,i'm always buying burners and then having to sell them because i cant get it to work the way i want. Here's what i'm trying to do.

1.Record a image file-which i already know how to do that
2.Then burn onto 2 cds from my image file.which i cant, and dont know how.
3.Yes i have 2 of the same burners both are Lite-On 32x.
4.Here is my setup
Intel Celeron 900mhz
256mb Sdram pc100
10gb Hard drive
Primary Master-10Gb Hard Drive
Primary Slave-Lite-On 32x Cdrw
Secondary Master-Lite-On 32x Cdrw
Secondery Slave-Lite-On 16x Dvdrom

I had both cdrw on the same ide cable but people told me to change it to see what happens and still nothing,i also was told that nero will suport 2 burners but i dont know how to get it to work.and was also told that disc juggler would would work but it havent. With disc juggler yeah i was able to get them to burn at the same time but it only reads up to 8x when my dvdrom is soposed to read cdrs at 40x.i have a full version of dj because i can pick 2 recorders its not the demo.

Another problem i have is for other 32x lite-on user's.I just got my 32x burners i used to use 16x cyberdrive's.Ok when i'm burning disc to disc with any program it will freeze up at like 40% and then stay stuck for some time and then it jumps to 99%.i'm not able to get into any other program while doing this,Another thing is the speed of recorder, yes this burner is fast but when i'm writing from a image file it takes forever on big size cd's.For example it takes me around 7-8 min's to burn a 79 min cdr.Which it took me the same time when i had my 16x,yeah people can say its the media its needs to be fast but when i get to the screen that allows me to chose speed it shows that i can pick up tp 24x or the max, which i don't understand.I'm using 16x hp invet cdr's.

Plz i'll appeciate all the help i can get my email addy is lilnick@rcn.com

I would think that 2 burners on the same cable would be better than having one of them share a cable with the data source device. IDE cables only support data transfer in one direction at a time, so the burner sharing with the HD can't get data at the same time the HD is supplying data.

To get two burners working you need to have them both installed before installing your burning software. Make sure that DMA is enabled on both burners. In nero there is a checkbox 'Use multiple burners' in the burning window - ie where you select the burner & burn speed.

Whats up darkman.I got disc juggler to burn to 2 disc at a time but it only goes up to 16x when my burner's are 32x.I know its not the media because thats the speed i can pick even before i put in the blanks.Another thing i don't see anything on nero that allows me to check multiple burner's i remember a while back when i had a older version of nero there was a box that i ccould've check but no i cant find it.Remember this is from copying a image fil i'm not using this for on the fly.

Hey Celtic i also have the latest version of nero, can you tell me how can i get that option.Another thing have you ever used disc juggler i got it to record at 32x but i haven't gotten any cds to fully burn.I keep getting error's and its only burn like the first 5mins of the cd and thats all.I know its not my cds or burner because i bought a 500box of blanks and none of them have got damaged burning at 32x onto know with this disc juggler i already lost 8cd's.

Nero - You need the FULL registered version - the ones you get bundled with writers are OEM and dont support multi burning

Your source and the 2 writers ALL need to be on seperate channels (ie you need 3 ide channels) - although some people have managed to get it to work with only 2. You will need a pci-ide card and put your 2 burners on seperate channels on this.

Yes people have been telling me stuff about having the burner's on 2 different ide channels, and i do.I have my hd and 1 cdrw on 1 & my other cdrw and dvdrom on the other, but it work fine when i had my older version of disc juggler and now that i upgraded that it allows me to write at 32x i been haveing problems.

not sure if this will get you sorted but ive managed to overcome the problem now on my setup, as follows...........

completely uninstalled the nero version, which had come with the plextor drivers. used a "borrowed" full retail version of nero 5.5.3.0, installed with keygen, and the option for multiburners was there.

now burning 2 discs at once to audio from mp3 on harddrive in 5 minutes on plextor 24x's - better than i anticipated.

hope this will work for u also, if u need help for the nero disc send me a mail.

cheers

An OEM version of Nero, such as the one that comes with a burner, would not have the multiple burner option.
